Beautiful, rural paddling from one end of Turner to the other.  Ends at the gateway to Androscoggin Riverlands State Park. A great section for bird sightings.

Meet at 8:30 am on Googin's Island (between the Twin Bridges) on Route 219 in Turner.

Trip Leader: Scott Andrews

Twin Bridges (Turner) to Center Bridge (Leeds)

Put in: Googin’s Island between the Twin Bridges on Route 219.  A path leads to the downstream tip of the island, avoiding some rapids underneath one of the bridges.  A good sized paved parking lot.  N44°20.516' W070°11.261'

N44°20Take out: The Leeds side of Center Bridge has a boat launch maintained by NextEra  with many parking spaces. N44°15.436' W070°10.963'

Total paddling distance: 6.7 miles

Shuttling directions: Turn left out of the parking lot.  After going over the bridge, stay left on Route 219.  After 1.7 miles, turn left to stay on Route 219.  After 4.3 miles, turn left on Route 117/North Parish Road.  After 2.1 miles, turn left on Center Bridge Road.  The boat launch is on the Leeds side of the bridge.

Notes:  A quick, easy paddle.  Could make it to the takeout by lunch at a good clip.
