Livermore Falls to Twin Bridges (Turner)
Put in: Beneath Livermore Falls Dam off Foundry Road in Livermore Falls. Small dirt parking lot. N44°28.850' W070°12.050'
Take out: Twin Bridges (Googin’s Island) in Turner. A paved lot on the island. Take out on river left side of the island. N44°20.516' W070°11.261'
Total paddling distance: 11.2 miles
Shuttling directions: Turn right out of the parking lot. After .3 miles, make a slight right onto Route 133. After 5.1 miles, turn right onto Route 106/County Road. After 4.3 miles, turn right onto Route 219. After 2.1 miles, cross the first of the Twin Bridges and turn left into a parking lot on Googin’s Island.
Notes:
A long paddle. The river is distant from the road so it is very quiet. A few stretches of rapids up to class II+. The first stretch is known as the Tolla Walla rapids.
