Saturday July 12th

9AM Meet at center of the town in Errol in the parking lot on the north side of the Route 26 bridge over the Androscoggin River.
Paddle 8 miles down river over fast moving water.

There is a fairly large parking lot at the next bridge down river known as the Seven Islands Bridge.

Paddling distance 8 miles

Water moves fast on most of this section.  Should be able to complete paddling in about 3 hours.

For experienced paddlers only.  There are several sections of class I-II+ rapids on this stretch of river, depending on water levels.  The toughest section is right at the put in, and it can be avoided by carrying boats down a path which leads to a put-in spot below the rapids.

This section is part of the Northern Forest Canoe Trail, and a detailed description of it is available in their guidebook.

Trip leader: Larry Ely
Presenter:  J.T, Horn of the Trust for Public Lands will speak about Upper Androscoggin River projects.
